I stopped putting all of my work online because that’s how you end up with nothing. One of the ways of seeing my work now is to get it in your mailbox. Real art, real words in real time. All human, all my own crafting. You in? The ungovernable POEM CLUB is for women, femmes, and allies who are tired of AI slop and are looking for real art and writing from real people. And by “real people”, I mean me. You will read my take on something that caught my eye that month, get a little poem card that encourages or enrages, and own a piece of art I made. Behind Our Town
Behind Our Town is a poetry and art snail mail club that delivers a poem print and an art print (4x5.5") along with a thoughtful letter directly to your mailbox each month. Subscribers gain monthly access to hundreds of archived poems from more than 30 chapbooks (now out-of-print) and to archived artworks. This club is inspired by a pen pal connection with the poet Naomi Shihab Nye—who is an enthusiastic fan of these archived poems. The poetry, art and letters inspire moments of connection by celebrating the wonder of the ordinary.

Welcome to our snail mail club where we send monthly letters to mothers, grandmothers, and people like you. Each month has a something new to look forward to and it's a cute little surprise each month to remind you to see the stories in the little things outside of the digital age we live in. Connection is so important and yet it's hard to make it a priority. Holding a physical item creates more of a moment than a digital one. Share a moment with someone you'd like to connect with more. We also send our monthly letters to mailbox grandparents - people living in retirement communities, assisted living homes, or on hospice care. If you no longer have someone in your life to share a letter with, sponsoring a mailbox grandparent will bring connection into the life of someone lonely.
