Thoughtful mail for curious women, delivered the old-fashioned way.

The North House Post is a monthly piece of thoughtful mail created for curious women who miss receiving something meaningful in the post. Each edition begins with a different theme and brings together writing, curiosity, reflection, play and beautiful paper goods designed to be enjoyed away from a screen. Inside each envelope, you’ll receive a personal letter exploring the month’s theme, a Curiosity featuring something fascinating from nature, history, science, folklore, literature or psychology, an analogue Practice paired with a journal prompt, a themed crossword, a collectible botanical bookmark, one sticker and an original art postcard created from my own artwork. Every edition is written, researched, designed and curated by me in New Brunswick, Canada. The North House Post is a small rebellion against the endless scroll: something to open slowly, read with a cup of tea, tuck into a book, write on, keep, share or send to someone else. Each month is different. Each envelope is an invitation to notice a little more, wonder a little longer and make ordinary life more interesting.
I’m Melissa, the founder of North House Society and the creator of The North House Post. I’m endlessly curious about the things that help us understand ourselves and the world around us, with a particular love for books, nature, old traditions, beautiful paper and ideas worth lingering over. The North House Post grew from my love of writing, researching, painting and making things by hand. Each month, I choose a subject I’m genuinely curious about and build an edition around it, bringing together a personal letter, something fascinating to learn, an analogue practice, a crossword, botanical pieces and original artwork. I believe knowledge can be found almost anywhere when we take the time to notice. The Post is my way of sharing some of what I’m noticing, learning and creating, one envelope at a time.
