Echoes of Grace: The Letter Club

Hello, I’m Gigi. Echoes of Grace is something very close to my heart, and I’m so glad I get to share a little more of its story with you. I started Echoes of Grace after noticing just how much bad news we take in every day. It’s on social media, on the television, in the newspapers and often in the conversations around us. Of course, it’s important to know what is happening in the world, but constantly taking it all in can sometimes leave us feeling worried, discouraged or wondering where the good news is amongst it all. That’s really where Echoes of Grace began. I wanted to create a little space online where, in the middle of everything else someone might be scrolling through, they could come across something encouraging and be reminded of the hope we have in the Lord. You never really know what someone is going through when they come across a post. They might be having a perfectly ordinary day, or they might be going through something nobody else knows about. My prayer has always been that perhaps one verse, one thought or one simple reminder might reach someone at just the right time and give them the encouragement they need to keep going. As much as I love sharing Echoes of Grace online, I started thinking about how I could make it feel a little more personal. That’s when the idea for The Letter Club began. I’ve always loved receiving letters. There’s something exciting about seeing an envelope with your name on it waiting in the letterbox — especially when it isn’t a bill! I love keeping them too. I actually have a box filled with old letters and cards that I’ve collected over the years. And I think that’s what I love most about a letter. You don’t just read it and scroll on. You can keep it, come back to it and sometimes find it again years later. So The Letter Club is really an extension of why I started Echoes of Grace in the first place. Only now, instead of an encouraging post appearing as you scroll, a little piece of that encouragement can arrive through your letterbox. My hope is that when it does, it gives you a moment to slow down, brings a little encouragement to your day and, most importantly, points you back to the Lord and the hope we have in Him.
